第22届“亚洲特大城市大学间研讨会 （The 22nd Inter-university Seminar on Asian Megacities，IUSAM2017）”将于2017年9月16-18日于天津大学建筑学院举办。本次会议的主题为“不仅仅是绿色城市——本地、区域与环球视角（Green City and Beyond: Local, Regional and Global Perspectives）”，也是天津大学建筑学院八十华诞的系列学术活动之一。
IUSAM由中国大陆、香港、台湾、日本、韩国、菲律宾等国家和地区规划、景观、建筑等相关专业和大学于上个世纪末发起，旨在为大学学生（主要是研究生）提供跨校学习和交流的机会，并集中各高校老师对学生的研究进行指导和点评。该研讨会每年轮流于日本、中国大陆、俄国、香港、韩国、菲律宾、台湾等各国家和地区举办，多年来主要核心参与的高校包括清华大学、天津大学、庆应义塾大学、东京大学、香港中文大学、汉阳大学、京畿大学、首尔国立大学、台湾大学、菲律宾大学、太平洋国立大学等，近年来也有泰国、美国、葡萄牙、法国、荷兰、芬兰等亚太和世界其他地区的大学与研究机构参与研讨会。
The 22nd Inter-university Seminar on Asian Megacities (IUSAM2017) will be held in School of Architecture, Tianjin University on September 16-18, 2017. IUSAM2017 is a part of the School’s 80 Years’ Anniversary series events. We sincerely welcome all old and new friends from IUSAM family to submit your paper and participate in this conference. Conference Theme
Asia and Pacific Area is sustaining their rapid urbanization process in recent years. It has induced pressing demands on infrastructure, urban construction, properties and the subsequent social and cultural issues. Improvements of the urban living environment at the same time bring about potential environmental and social problems. For example, Chinese Government just lunched the Xiong’an New District proposal, probably the most ambitious regional development project in 21st Century which locates in a highly eco-sensitive environmental contexts of Northern China area. As strategic support to such mega projects, detail implementation of the planning, design, construction, operation and management of architecture, urban and landscapes have become challenging topics regarding the goal of efficient land use, strategic of urban and rural planning, resource management, environmental protection, urban renewal, public health, living quality, community construction, social equity and cultural conservation, etc. Consideration and attention have been given on principles of all aspects of green city and brought new topics for university and professional education. A broader perspective from international experiences will contribute for thinking locally and regionally, which is one of the initial goals of the educational and academic exchange opportunities provided by IUSAM.
The IUSAM2017 premising ‘Green City and Beyond: Local, Regional and Global Perspectives’ is based on previous years’ traditions of IUSAM events, with a tribute to different spatial and social scales in green cities. The conference offers an open academic discussion platform for, but not limited to the following areas:
1.Ecological and environmental contexts of urban development
2.Eco-city and sustainable planning
3.Green community
4.Urban renewal or revitalization
5.Design, development and management of green building(s)
6.Vernacular architectural/planning experiences
7.Geodesign and planning/design supporting technologies
8.Globalization and professional practices in Asia Pacific Area
Abstract/full Paper Submission
All abstract and full paper must be submitted online through the conference website on http://iusam2017-tju.csp.escience.cn/ (require a login account of CSTCloud registration). Please provide the title, 2~5 keywords, and the abstract less than 500 words in plain text on the webpage. You may also provide another necessary supplement file as attachment.
Please submit your abstract on or before June 5, 2017. All abstracts and full papers will be under peer reviews organized by the Paper Selection Committee led by Prof. Michael Tomeldan of the University of the Philippines.

Registration can be made either online through the conference website by individual participant, or by filling in the registration form attached with the First Circular by each institute.
Accommodation
The conference secretariat has arranged limited numbers of conference-rate rooms available in first-come-first-serve bases. Please book your accommodation on the conference website.
Excursions
Tianjin is extremely famous on its urban development and architectural heritages under multi-cultural influences, especially in mid 19th to early 20th century. September 18 is reserved for an excursion to Concession Areas of Tianjin to visit their architectural and urban heritages. The excursion will be guided by our colleagues and graduate students who are focusing on relevant academic research topics.
